January 6, 2024 – [ST. LOUIS, MO] – SureCam, a leader in connected dash camera technology, today announced the successful close of its Series B funding round, raising $12.5 million, along with a $23.5 million debt facility agreement. The Series B was led by Lewis & Clark Capital with participation from existing and new investors. The debt facility was led by Boundary Street Capital, an Alexandria, VA-based credit fund known for supporting fast-growing technology companies. The funding will accelerate SureCam’s expansion into the SMB and mid-market fleet space, allowing the company to build on its success in making video telematics accessible to fleets seeking an intuitive way to manage their vehicles and safety program.
With a growth rate outpacing the overall video telematics market, SureCam’s strategy is focused on helping fleets operate more safely and profitably without the need for additional resources or time-consuming efforts. In the past year, SureCam has made significant advancements, introducing its AI-powered dash camera technology and automated coaching workflows, which enable businesses to achieve better safety results with less effort.
“Our approach to optimizing fleet safety and operations is resonating with the market,” said Max Hillman, SureCam’s CEO, “Fleet technology tools have become overly complicated and burdensome. Our customers want to focus on their core business, whether that’s construction, or field services or transportation. We constantly ask ourselves, does this new feature or process make life easier for our customers.”
With the fresh capital infusion, SureCam is positioned to expand its all-in-one telematics capabilities, delivering solutions that improve business outcomes by simplifying fleet safety data and insights. The company’s reputation for reliability, fast deployments, and ease of use has solidified its standing as a preferred choice for fleets looking to implement video telematics quickly and without complexity.
“SureCam has demonstrated impressive growth by addressing the needs of underserved fleets, offering them solutions that are both affordable and effective,” said Pat Hutchison, Founder and Partner at Boundary Street Capital. “We’re excited to be part of this next phase of SureCam’s journey and look forward to seeing the company continue to innovate and lead in the all-in-one video telematics space.”
“Fleets today are inundated with AI-generated alerts, making it difficult to manage effectively,” said John Weldon, SureCam’s President, who leads the company’s product roadmap. “We’re excited to introduce a solution that reduces alert volume and ensures every alert is addressed, maintaining the power of AI-driven safety without the overwhelm. We’re also proud that Boundary Street Capital has bought into our vision, supporting our mission to make fleet safety technology more accessible and impactful.”
SureCam’s customer-centric approach has also earned the company top rankings for customer satisfaction in the video telematics category. Its in-house customer service team ensures rapid response times and resolutions, further enhancing the user experience.
