G4S Chooses SureCam Connected Cameras To Improve Safety

The leading global integrated security company, G4S has deployed the SureCam connected camera solution in its Patrol & Response vehicles. The SureCam technology has enabled G4S to improve workforce safety and protect its drivers from crash for cash and road rage incidents.

“We evaluated vehicle cameras from several different providers and SureCam was the best fit for our business,” said Andy Lane, Chief Operating Officer at G4S Secure Solutions (UK&IRE).

G4S Patrol & Response vehicles were already tracked, but the company saw the benefit of being instantly alerted to driving incidents with video evidence. G4S chose SureCam for the reliability of their vehicle cameras in all weather conditions, high-quality footage including infrared capability and their understanding of G4S business needs.

The cameras were trialed in an area which previously had one of the highest incident rates. The G4S vans involved in the trial with SureCam have since seen a reduction in both the number of incidents and their severity. Unexplained damage has almost disappeared.

“First impressions always count, the devices did what we wanted as soon as the units were installed,” said Andrew Williams, G4S Head of Fleet Services (UK&IRE).

“We customised our connected cameras to enable G4S to gain the maximum benefit, with a focus on high-quality video footage and adjusted trigger levels for incident reporting,” said Sam Footer, Strategic Partnership Director at SureCam. “Working closely with G4S has given us a greater understanding of their business and we are successfully supporting them to run a safer and efficient fleet.”

G4S recognised that its Patrol & Response vehicles faced a number of challenges, their vehicles are on the road 24/7, covering over 75,000 miles a year.
