Jayserv, a mechanical and electrical contractor, has adopted an advanced video telematics solution from SureCam to help protect its team of engineers who operate across the Southeast of England. The company has installed SureCam’s front and rear dashcam solution on its fleet of 10 vans, giving it greater visibility of any collisions, near misses and alleged driving incidents. This will enable Jayserv to improve fleet safety, reduce claims costs and have peace of mind about the welfare of its mobile workforce.
“We had previously been using vehicle tracking software to monitor our fleet and record engineer visits, but we wanted increased visibility over our engineering team to ensure everyone is safe when driving,” explains Kayleigh Mardell, Director of Jayserv Mechanical & Electrical Ltd. “Each of our engineers spends a large amount of time out on the road, which is the most dangerous work activity they do. With this in mind, we wanted a solution that delivers added layers of protection alongside fleet telematics capabilities.”
The dual-lens connected dashcams provide front-and rear-facing cameras that record what is happening ahead of and behind a vehicle, with instant incident alerts and supporting data capture. The video telematics devices were rolled out as part of Jayserv’s fleet replacement programme with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent. As a technology partner of the commercial vehicle hire specialist, SureCam was able to install the dashcams during the procurement process, avoiding any operational disruption or vehicle downtime.
