The Miles Consultancy (TMC) and SureCam have partnered to launch an industry-first for company car and grey fleet operations that captures video evidence and HMRC-ready business mileage in a single system. MilesSecure integrates TMC's Mileage+ service with a specially designed dashcam from SureCam that overcomes driver privacy concerns by providing video only on demand. The result is a car fleet technology solution that removes the administrative burden of mileage claims, cuts fuel and insurance costs, and improves risk management.

MilesSecure automatically captures mileage using accurate telematics data from the SureCam device. Drivers can toggle between business and private trips in seconds via the Mileage+ app or online portal, and when a journey is classified as personal, start and end locations are immediately deleted with only total mileage details retained. Payroll reimbursements and deductions are then calculated based on data directly from a fuel/EV payment card or uploaded receipts, alongside audited, HMRC-ready compliance reporting. A data integration is also available with leading expenses system, SAP Concur.
The on-demand dashcam supports the claims management process when a collision occurs, but unlike many other video telematics solutions, no driver behaviour or incident alerts are triggered. The simplified camera does not include any in‑vehicle video or audio capture, providing peace of mind to the driver that their privacy is fully protected. This means car fleets can access video evidence when required to defend against fraudulent claims or keep at-fault claims costs to a minimum.
